48h in La Graciosa: diving, cycling and one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen

WHERE?

WHEN?

January 2022.

TIPS

How to go: you have to take the ferry from Lanzarote (or other islands even). You have different companies available but the main one is Lineas Romero. If you go to the island to dive, it is usually included in the diving package so you do not have to book.

Where to stay: There are 2 villages on the island but the main one is Caleta de Sebo. Book via airbnb / booking etc. Booking was actually less expensive, for the same properties.

Where to eat:

  • There is no full veggie/vegan option on the island but most of the restaurants have at least one option. We went to Girasol and they had good options.

  • If you go cycling around the island, pack your lunch! There are 3 supermarkets and a bakery on the island.

Where to rent a bike: Go with La Molina bike, Demelza the owner is super nice and available. Text her directly on Whatsapp: +34 696 00 18 98. You could also go by car to different places, but only by “taxis” and way more expensive and less liberty.

Sunset Spots:

  • Playa Francesca

EXPLORE

The best way to discover the island is to rent a bike! You have 3 main itineraries and it takes time! I thought that with one day we could do the 3 itineraries but no, you cycle on the sand, you want to take the time to rest at different spots, and if you have a windy day, it will be sportive.

I am sure the 3 itineraries are great but because of the time we had and even more the wind, we did the one below and we even had to go back after “Los arcos” because we could not really cycle facing the East!

Bike course

  • First viewpoint: stop here, leave the bike on the side, go on top of the mini hill and enjoy the view!

First viewpoint over the other side of the island.

  • Playa de la Conchas: one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen in my life! It is breathtaking, a must-do!

  • Montaña Bermeja: a nice short hike to get a crazy view over Playa de la Conchas and the island.

  • Los arcos de los Caletones: You have to walk 5-10min before finding them. Really beautiful spot. Nature is really impressive!

DIVING

La Graciosa has the largest Marine Reserve in Europe, so a must-go! There is one club on the island: Buceo La Graciosa and they are super nice and they have good equipment, so highly recommended! We had very bad weather so do not judge too much the quality of the water from my pics!
